WHAT I DID THIS WEEKEND: QUEENS MUSEUM

This Weekend Jennifer headed to Queens Museum, which currently has a few excellent exhibits open to the public. Polit-Sheer-Form! explores the work of the China-based art group Polit-Sheer-Form-Office, who strive to create a collective way of life while removing the political context associated with their history, while Commonly Newcomer by South Korean transplant Jewyo Rhii explores the intuitive and experimental aspects of being a newcomer in the city.  There’s also the just-opened exhibit Variations: A Portrait Series by Benedict Evans, which features men and women of the Transgender, Genderqueer, Agender, Androgyne, and Gender Fluid communities currently living in Brooklyn and Queens. And no trip to Queens Museum would be complete without checking out their permanent exhibit, Panorama of the City of New York, which is referred to as ” the jewel in the crown of the collection of the Queens Museum.”
