On Saturday I headed up to Minnewaska State Park Preserve in Kerhonkson, NY, which features waterfalls, sky lakes, and hiking through the peak of the fall foliage. This was the perfect weekend to catch the height of autumn in the country, and Minnewaska is a quick 2 hour drive up from New York City and has more to offer than can be captured with a camera. Sunday afternoon visited The Cloisters, a branch of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, in upper Manhattan. The museum is devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe. The museum rooms are filled with tapestries, sculptures and sacred structures surrounding the majestic center gardens. A definitely recommended and unique museum to visit, your trip up should also include Fort Tyron Park (the park in which the museum is located) which offers beautiful walking paths and views of the Hudson River.
