STUDIO SESSION: KOTOBA

Studio Session is a look into the creative spaces of the designers we are proud to be currently stocking at OAK.

For the latest installment of our Studio Session series we stopped by the midtown offices of Kotoba. Truly a unique brand – helmed by designers Lindsay and Melinda – Kotoba uses WholeGarment technology in all of their pieces, a Japanese creation in which every style produced is completely seamless. This leads to less stress on the fabric, and longer sustainability of the garment. The design process for the FIT alums begins on a computer program called Apex in which new styles are rendered and fits can be perfected on digital models (Lindsay and Melinda traveled to Japan to master the program). As the duo continue to revolutionize the way knits are produced, Kotoba is also proudly made in the USA. While in their studio, we got a first look at their SS14 look book, and new prototypes that made us even more excited to get into their FW13 collection, currently available at OAK.
