smells like teen spirit: obesity and speed pop up shop now open

As you make your way to the Standard for a drink or the Highline for a stroll make sure to drop by Earnest Sewn in the Meatpacking district for a gander at the new pop-up shop plaintively brooding inside.

Downtown duo Lyz and Josh from Obesity and Speed, a line equated with effortles, slouchy tees emblazoned by recollections for our teenage youth, launched their first store in store last night in the concept driven denim store.

The shop has been modeled after a teenager’s bedroom, taking inspiration from the designers’ own formative years spent mostly grounded in suburbia. Their only consolations then were punk rock, unlocked bedroom windows, and a carefully formulated escape plan.
