OFF THE WALL: JASPER JOHNS ‘REGRETS’

Screen Shot 2014-04-01 at 7.29.19 PM

“Dead ends and fresh starts.” That’s the ethos behind Jasper Johns’ latest body of work Regrets, which was inspired by an old photograph of Lucien Freud holding his head in his hands. Basing these works on the photo’s composition, as well as its damaged, weathered state, Johns explores sadness and disappointment through a range of mediums and techniques.
