OFF THE WALL: ISA GENZKEN AT MOMA

IMG_1330

This weekend we made our way up to the MoMA to check out the Isa Genzken Retrospective, the most extensive collection of the German artist’s work in the 40 years she’s been creating her signature sculptures and assemblage pieces. Many of these works are on display for the first time in the US with the exhibit also highlighting the artist’s work in photography, painting and collage. Some of our favorite pieces include ‘Slot Machine’ a three-dimensional photo collage from 1999, ‘New Buildings for Berlin’ created from glass and silicone on wood pedestals from 2004, and ‘Da Vinci’ which features painted airplane windows from 2003. Check out some of our photos from the exhibit below, and visit the retrospective in person for the full effect.
