OAK FALL ANTHEM: THE REPLACEMENTS “ANDROGYNOUS”

“Same hair, revolution. Unisex, evolution.” Today’s OAK Fall Anthem comes off the Replacements’ Let It Be, released in October 1984, which saw a shift away from the loud and fast punk sound that fans grew accustomed to hearing from the band. The newfound focus on songwriting and vocals is highlighted on “Androgynous” featuring just a piano and singer Paul Westerberg on the stripped-down track that’s about unapologetic self-acceptance.
