IN THE HOOD: SOUTH WILLIAMSBURG – OTB

otb10

It happened to be a “Movie Monday” when we stopped into OTB last night, meaning the regular menu was pared down to $1 oysters and some of the best fried chicken we’ve had in Brooklyn. A themed bar (racetrack betting parlor in this case, complete with betting phones and club chairs), fried chicken, and oysters can seem par for the course for North Brooklyn these days, however OTB avoids the hype with their laid back but excellent service (read: the servers know their shit, but aren’t dressed up all old-timey), and fantastic cocktails and food, all at fair prices.

What: OTB
When: $1 oysters Sunday and Thursday 11PM – 1 AM, Friday and Saturday 12AM – 2 AM, Monday all night.
Where: 141 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY
How: Marcy Ave JMZ
Why: In a borough currently having a love affair with either friend chicken or oysters, this is the place to get both.

OAK Recommends the “Oaxacan Wino” – a mix of Del Maguey Mezcal, Red Wine Reduction and Sweet Vermouth – from OTB’s “Alcohol Incident Log” cocktail menu.
