IN THE HOOD: SCHALLER’S

IMG_4722

An upstate institution, Schaller’s has been serving up ground rounds (burgers) since the 1950’s on Lake Ontario in Rochester, NY. Growing up here, Schaller’s was a Friday night tradition, and to this day it always hits the spot. Some things to note: Rochester burgers are flat and served on hard dinner rolls, when you ask for “everything” on a burger you get mustard, onions and hot sauce, our meat-based hot sauce isn’t like Frank’s Red Hot, but we still put that shit on everything, and we have two types of hot dogs: Texas (red, beef hotdogs) and the white hot, which is an unsmoked and uncured pork hot dog. All of this greatness can be found at Schaller’s.
