m’finda kuunga community garden by alicia hogan

1. Where in New York is this?
m’finda kuunga community garden. the name of the garden means “the edge of the other side of the world” in the kikongo language. the park is at christie and forsyth by delancey.

2. what’s your favorite memory here?
i have lots. in the summer time my best friend and i eat dumplings in the park and watch the cute little hippie kids collect bugs and learn about compost. i walk by here everyday on my way to work and noticed there was always chinese people gathering these berry type things off of the trees that surround the park. did a little research and found out that they are ginseng trees. how cool is that?

3.when is the best time to go?
spring is really nice in the garden…. but anytime is a good time to go to the park!

4. if you could take anyone in the world here who would it be?
steve martin. no reason besides that i love him.
