coming soon: pleasure principle

japanese online magazine jamool recently interviewed pleasure principle about their spring 2011 collection which will be arriving soon. check the interview below:

Q1. Please outline your concept for SS11 and the reasons behind it.

For SS11 We continue to explore genderless clothing with long t-shirt shapes and open draped front for men and women. We developed special tie dye effect using pigment dye on a mainly white background to create a kind of deconstructed tie – dye.

Q2. For this season, what fabrics are you paying attention to?

Bamboo jersey – has much more draping effect than regular cotton jersey. Silk chiffon, Cotton batiste, cotton chees-cloth – we like to use natural fabrics and dye and wash them using enzymes to create a very soft hand

Q3. What role does color play in your SS11 collection?

We usually have a monochrome palette black gray white – this season we added tie-dye but in a minimal way. We prefer usually the pattern of the clothes to speak clearly so don;t want to use too much color

Q4. Please tell us what things are important to you when thinking of a new design.

To create items that really have not been seen before – not just to create more clothing but new ideas
