new york-based stylist and oak bond st. staff member cameron cooper kicks off our autumn ‘the look’ series…in his words:
murky moments: Muted grays, browns and tans mixed with blacks and metallics is the perfect combination for the fall season. Silhouettes display shape with paneled leggings, square cut shirts, jackets with square shoulders and angular collars. Tower above all in a server slouched wedge or a thick heeled ankle boot.
The over all look: muddy glamor meets right angle chic.

oak williamsburg manager, travis deluca, presents his take on the look for summer: i try to keep my style classic, but i always like to incorporate one surprising element (an asymmetric hem tank, drop crotch sweat shorts, a sweater with nylon insets, etc). i love the idea of mixing updated classics with key basic components that everyone should have in their wardrobe (black jeans, a leather jacket, oxfords).

oakazine editor-in-chief martin-christopher harper presents his take on the look for summer: mesh, leather layers, a killer dress, the right accessories, and a statement bag. that’s how you shut it down.

oak’s head designer kristopher whitman presents his take on the look: i’m not a fashion plate by any means but i know what i want to wear when the summer comes. mostly vintage sunglasses, loose jersey separates, and washed denim/white denim. key accessories complete the look for me, and i try to stick with clean, sometimes sporty styling. get into it.

our williamsburg store manager’s take on the look -sexy, classic chic . . . always. daytime to night time outfits and making your closet functional.

oak assistant web manager presents his take on the look: this spring i’m feeling for dark, futuristic streetwear and lightweight layers with a focus on outerwear and shoes. i like to mix classic pieces and brands in, in not too classic of a way. a little bit of diy goes a long way as well: I took our sleeveless wrap and cut an extra armhole – it’s been my favorite layering piece since.

oak bond st. manager alicia hogan presents her take on the look and includes many items exclusive to our bond st. store: tough, confident, sexy, and badass. the ultimate new york woman. you want to be her best friend … but you are a little scared of her too. she mixes menswear into her wardrobe because a good men’s blazer gives you power.

oak co-owner jeff madalena’s take on the look: I decided to go with classic “oak” styling; dark, moody, and sexy. i would say that these words typically sum up our general fashion sensibility.

a.ok head buyer bear smith presents the latest shop the look: texture, stripes, sarcasm, plaids and proportion. i try not to take myself too seriously, have fun and take risks. i encourage this mentality to customers shopping my buy on the racks of a.ok.

for our second installment of the look, oak co-owner louis terline presents his take on spring: layers. contrasting proportions. textural differences. hard soft. short long. black meets color!
kimberly christenson, head buyer for oak presents her take on the look: As the buyer for Oak I would like to formally introduce this new feature by tossing together the first four looks that sartorially express my own style (and no, I am not modeling). Heavy handed layers, moody colors and nothing too fussy that can translate right into a New York night.
